My works bring together discarded metal cables, wires and grids to form high-relief sculptures, generally evoking articles of clothing, basketry or tapestry. Some are formed using found perforated metal frames, with wire embellishments added. In other cases I use a 60 inch countermarch loom to weave wire, forming the piece's skeleton. Essentially, I fabricate basketry and textiles, using metal as my silk thread. The contrast of the soft feminine forms and the harsh tension of the materials brings to discourse such topics as death and decay, rebirth and renewal.
